HLI Reunion 10th May 200827 viewsThe HLI held their annual re-union in the Home Headquarters on Saturday 10th May,
there were over 40 in attendance.
The re-union kicked off about 12ish (though some who had travelled far and stayed in Hotels
came a wee bit earlier) after a few speeches a decision was made to continue with the re-unions
and to go ahead with next years function (everyone present was delighted at the prospect of
being able to meet up as usual)
Whisky was then taken to help wash down the stovies, pies and bridies
Jim Devine, an ex TA Glasgow Highlander, and now Head of Multimedia with the Huntarian
Museum, then asked for volunteers for a project he is co-ordinating between Home
Headquarters RHF, 602 Sqn RAF, and the Huntarian Museum called Their past your future,
in which school kids put questions to veterans from the 2nd World War up until the present,
which are then recorded and used as a resource by various agencies, He received a very
enthusiastic response with many of the veterans present putting thier names forward (if this is something
you are interested in participating in then please get in touch with us here at Home Headquarters) .

4 viewsView from the top of the Rathaus. Sorry, not a clear picture. Many of the big department stores were run for the British Services (ie the Naafi, YMCA and I'm sure the Salvation Army also had a presence there). Luneburg in the post-War years was a garrison town! The man with the Bratwurst stall stood on the right of the sqare.
