The association has approx 100 paid up members a few living abroad and several living in England and many from outside Glasgow although those living abroad will never be expected to attend functions we keep in touch by mail and they enjoy the Glasgow Highlanders mail they receive Quite a few of those living in England do make the effort to get to the Burns Supper along with those living nearby and outside the city.
We have several potential members awaiting to join.
We have a few wartime members of the GH and many post war members who served with the GH as members of 52 Lowland as well as members who served with the Cameronians RSF HLI.
Our average attendance at functions is in the region of about 50 for each function although the Burns Supper brings in normally about 80 attending.
We are still recruiting members and anyone interested can contact us or go through a serving member who nominates them and their details are put to the committee for consideration.
The association had drifted away a few years ago but with a new spring in its step it is back and intends to continue going forward again as stated membership is not restricted to only Glasgow Highlanders we welcome any ex serving member of the forces whos own club may have folded due to lack of members and they accept that they are friends of the Glasgow Highlanders and long may it continue.
