The Royal Highland Fusiliers
The collection is primarily military and includes firearms, edged weapons, colours and flags, dress and insignia, decorations and medals, paintings, prints and drawings, sporting trophies, musical instruments, regimental order books, some service records and related documents, as well as memorabilia and souvenirs of service at home and abroad.
Additionally, the Museum preserves a library and photographic collection of some historical importance. Its scope extends beyond the Regular Line Infantry Regiment which forms its foundations, to the associated Regiments of Militia, volunteer corps and other auxiliary units, (which include the Home Guard and affiliated Army Cadet Corps) through to their Territorial Force and Territorial Army successors active in the Regimental District (Glasgow and Ayrshire) and covers the period 1678-1959.
